I wonder if you can help, I have just had my dream bathroom fitted after putting up with an orange suite/tiles for 5 years. My builder installed an Exposed Artisan valve and slide rail kit that runs off the mains cold supply and the hot from our tank (situated in the bed room next to the bath room) The pressure from the cold is great but the hot is not very good. We knew this would be an issue and he suggested that we try and move the tank in the loft by 3 ft as this would give us increased pressure, or install a pump if this does not work, however my main concern is that the hot water from the shower is not that hot,despite it being really hot when it comes out of the bath tap. I've turned the control to maximum hot and it just isn't warm enough.. at least it won't be for my 10 yr old daughter ! I'm really upset and worried as its cost a bomb and its all been tiled over etc and I don't know what to do!!! The pressure needs improving but my main concern is the water temperature..
I have a potterton suprema boiler that serves the water and the heating and have had this for 4 years with no problems. Is there anything I can do that won't involve spending a shed load of money.. i've run out!!

Hi, I assume you've still got all the documentation?

Most showers assume the hot and cold pressure will be roughly equal. From what you're saying it sounds like the cold pressure far exceeds the hot pressure, and as the shower's temperature was factory calibrated for equal pressure consequently the shower is always running cold.

The documentation should tell you how to re-calibrate the thermostat within the shower mixer which hopefully should improve on this.

Two problems.

One is the pressure difference you could fit one of these, but that will reduce the cold. Item 7. or install a pump

Problem two is directly related to one.

The high cold pressure is diluting the hot temperature.
