When using my diswasher im finding that some water is going into my washing machine rather than draining out. Each time I Use the dishwasher i have to use the little stopper at the bottom of the washing machine to release water otherwise it fills up the machine and overflows. Please can someone advise me as to whether there is a pipe that i should check to see if there is a block or should i just call a plumber?

The washing machine should be connected via an washing machine standpipe so you have an air gap.

If this was the case them the problem wouldn't exist.

Im not sure how its all connected but its all set up in fitted cabnets so there are pipes everywhere, it looks like both tubes go to central one underneath the sink. Sorry if im being really stupid but i dont have a clue bout these things.
