my wife and i just bought a chandellier yesterday and have been going through hell to get the light switch to work!!
the cieling box has red ,green white and black wires
the chandellier has two black wires with one copper line i assume is for the ground
now ive got the two wires hooked up to the black and white
(one black to black one white to black)
i turned the breaker back on and tada the light worked however when i went to use the switch NOTHING HAPPENS!!!
what the heck do i need to do?
PLEASE HELP US! |

Could be the black is hot (from the panel... always on) and the red is the switch leg. Try capping off the black with a wire nut and hook the chandelier black wire (that was on the black you disconnected) to the red wire in the junction box.
