Looking for some advice. Just moved into a new flat a month ago and have started having problems with my Toilet and Bath. Everytime I flush the toilet water comes up through the Bath Plughole and leaves a small pool of water lying in the bath before eventually draining away. At the same time the water in the toilet becomes higher than normal before draining away to leave just a little bit at the bottom. I have tried to use a drainage unblocker but with no success and water is starting to drip down and the flat below everytime we flush or use the drainage unblocker. Can any one help me with this? Thank you.

If this is a new flat then you need to get onto the builder/developer as it sounds as if the drainage han not been installer with the correct slope downwards towards the outlet.

It is an old tenement flat but has recently been bought for renovation and sold. I only have initially 2 weeks to go back to the seller with any complaints and this time has elapsed as have been in for a month and a half and this is the first time it has happend.

Water is dripping from the ceiling of neighbour downstair. it is more frequent when the toilet is flushed. I tried a drain unblocker(auger and plunger) but the plunger just seem to make the dripping 10 times worse for the person downstairs. I got a plumber to look at it today but he reckons the brand new tiles are going to have to come up to fix the problem.

Well I would check the drains first, then dig the floor up and renew the leak on the pipework and possibly re-run the waste pipes.

I'm sorry but the problem is with the builder or plumber that did the job
