hi

this is a bit of a theoretical question (I think)! I apologise in advance if what I am about to ask makes no sense or already exists.

I am wondering if it would be possible to set a TRV to turn off when a temperature on a particular surface is reached, and for this to open again when the temperature drops?

Being a bit more specific: if i wanted to turn the radiator off when a particular patch of wall hits a temperature, would this be possible? also for it to turn on again when the temperature drops below another level.

I don't really need it to connect to the boiler because i don't really want the boiler constantly checking for what to do, so i guess i also want it to work outwith the boiler.

I am working on a project where i would like to use this functionality.
Any suggestions about if this is do-able and how would be greatly appreciated Smile

I would hate to think what you got in mind, any surface temperature stat could be modified, a pipe or cylinder stat for example

Thanks for your replies, the remote sensors seem quite useful.

would it work if there was only one TRV on one radiator in the system, or do all radiators need TRV's?

Thanks again

There's loads of HVAC controls on the market, you can do virtually anything if you have the money.
