Im having problems with a heating system I have altered for a customer at work. My supervisor cant seem to find the problem, neither can I.

basically the customer has an outsode boiler that was running heating only, and an Aga that was heating a Megaflo cylinder Shocked

The megaflo is in the loft space. I have run 2 new 28mm primaries from the boiler into the loft and installed a new pump and motorisation so that the boiler is running the heating and the cylinder.

Here is a sketch which I dont in paint. Bit rubbish but you get the idea. This is all in the loft space.

What is happening is that when first filled and vented all is running fine. Then after about an hour the combined fill and vent start to get hot, as does the water in the header tank and it begins to gurgle. The next thing that happens is that the upstairs rads stop working because they begin to fill with air. The combined fill and vent begin to make a gurgling sound.

I cant think why this is doing this the level of the water in the header tank is fine. It fills behind the pump on the suction side. The pump is quite a big pump, Grundfos 25-55 I believe. From what I can make out there is no water pushing over the vent. Now I assume it is drawing airr down the combined fill and vent, but why???? and why is that water getting so hot in the header tank.

Hoping someone with better knowledge can point me in the right direction.

Is the megaflo still connected to the AGA and what fuel is it running.

Just to clear up one thing, me or my company didn't connect the Aga to the megaflo. This is the original cause for concern which we were called in for.
