| Hello out there. Can someone please help me fix my dripping tap. It is from MFI, code 620 2TH bath Filler. It is dripping from the spout as I cannot fully stop the cold water. The taps only have a small turning operation between fully open and fully closed. Someone mentioned it is a ceramic washer arrangement? I have taken the handle off the cold tap, and the chrome external collar underneath. Then you can extract a shaft with 2 washers to leave the valve body with the spline shaft that opreates the valve. This sits in the bore of the tap. Inside there is a nut which I thought holds the valve inside the tap body. However I cannot turn it. There is a circlip above the nut but I can't see how that is stopping the valve from coming out. I cannot see any other way of getting the valve body out - there are no hidden allen key lugs behind the tap, etc. The valve looks like a spark plug in a deep cylinder bore - not a very good description but best I can do sorry!! The tap is on MFI's web site. |
