|

Hi There
I have just replaced an old bathroom rad for a towel rail. I am pretty sure it has its own branch as it comes on in the summer when the central heating is off.
Its all working well , however when I drained the upper level of the central heating, i.e header tank etc I expected it to drain all of the upper level rads as well (Note that i drained off from the bathroom itself), but it didnt, only seemed to empty the header tank. Why is this ?
Thanks

| Its quite possible that there are two circuit an up and a down, if the up has risen into the motorized valve then it could be the answer. |

| Plus if you didnt open the radiator vents on the upstairs rads they will still be full of water due the water being vacuumed. |

Sounds like your bathroom radiator is taken directly from the primary circuit to your hot water cylinder. This was sometimes the case in older systems, and therefore runs independantly from the heating system.
