HI
Ive discovered that the cold tap (mot fitted by me0 operates the wrong way round. ie hot anti clockwise for on and clockwise for off, but the cold is clockwise on anti clock off.

The action of turning it off (anti clock) unscrews the knob part of the tap head!! so its a real pain

Is there any easy way I can invert the direction of operation.

Cheers

If you put the hot tap on the left and the cold on the right, you will find that both taps turn into the bowl for on and push back for off.

Thanks for the mega swift reply.

yes the taps have been put on the wrong way round.
Just the latest in a long list of problems left by out hopeless builder when we moved into the building.

The biggest problem really is that the turning off of the cold tape (accepting it is on the wrong side of the basin) is quite stiff, and the screw thread of the knob assembly tends to loosen and unscrew at the pressure point needed to be applied to turn off the tap, so it unscrews and the water is still on.

I think 2 new , better taps correctly fitted is the solution

Cheers

Sounds like a good idea, give the builder the bill for a laugh if nothing else
