No water pressure in my bath hot water tap

Hi
I have been having majors for some time with my heating and water system. my central heating stopped working a while ago. only the radiators upstairs get hot, have bled the system 3 times and still no better. the hot tap in the bath now has virtually no water coming out of it, yet the sink in the bathroom has normal pressure. give me a clue please Rolling Eyes

Air lock by the sound of it.

IS the cold to the bath ok

Hi
The cold tap is fine. as is both taps on the sink. the crazy thing is the hot water comes out of the shower head on the bath mixer tap fine, just not out of the actual fawcett. I haven't got a clue! typical of a woman i suppose Laughing

Is it an thermostatic fawcett, with a lever which goes from tap the shower, can you post a pic

Hi

can't post a pic. have changed the taps to normal taps now and still no pressure in the bath tap. the sink is full pressure just none to bath.

Help!! Embarassed

Its got to be an air lock or blockage in the pipe.

Do you have an isolating valve on the bath taps

I have got isolation valves for the bath taps. what do i need to do? Confused

What you have to do is forse the air out, but first make sure the isolating valve is open, slot inline with the pipe.

If you have cold water to the washing machine you can link the hot and cold with one of the hoses then open both taps and the bath tap and with luck it will work

do you mean turn both the kitchen taps on or other taps? have tried to do it but does not seem to be helping Crying or Very sad

The washing machine will have 2 valve with 2 hoses one hot and one cold.

If you connect the cold hose to the hot valve open the bath tap, then the washing machine hot tap, and then the washing machine cold, and you should get water from the bath tap with any luck, so you turn the taps off in reverse order, or get a plumber in.

Scruff I could be wrong here but could she not try opening hot tap on bath and putting her hand over spout and opening the bath cold tap to try and force it out that way?

Interesting question,

One assumes the supplies are both from the same source, and therefore both the same pressure

Im not so sure what you mean?

If they are both tank fed but the cold is still working as are other hot taps. I would assume the lock would be between the hot water distibution pipe from the cylinder and the hot tap. So forcing cold, tank fed, water should clear it.

It has worked for me many times in the past.

Actually I just had another thought.

She says she has been getting hot water from the shower head part of the tap.

Perhaps there is a strainer in the tap that has got some crud behind it.
