Dear sirs,
I have recently put in a suspended ceiling in my basement. I have put 6 lights in the ceiling that is placed in the grids, that are 2' x 4'. When I wire the lights up the ceiling grid has 40 volts of power going through it. If all the lights are disconnected there is no power running through the grid. No matter what light I wire up power runs through the grid. I have taken each fixture apart and there are no wires touching the fixture. I have checked all the wires and none are touching the grid. I have used 12 - 2 wire with ground, and have grounded all the fixtures. I am at my wits end to find the problem with this electrical problem. You get a shock when on the floor in stocking feet and touch the grid. If you have shoes on there is no effect. I can not figure out why my grid has electricity running through it. Have you any ideas?
