Hello. I have a 1999 V Reg Astra 1.6LS. It started to have trouble starting up a few weeks ago and would get you to one point but then wouldn't start again.

We have had numerous people including the AA and mechanics tell us different things but it still won't go. Sometimes it would start other days it wouldn't.

The ecu light started flashing at one point and we were told it was an immobiliser problem. The ecu was checked and the immobiliser and keys recoded but it still wouldn't start.

We got it started with jump leads and left it running for 45 minutes but it wouldn't start again after we switched it off.

We have since replaced the battery but it just won't hold once started. We start it up and rev but it dies to a halt. We don't know what it could be now unless its an immobiliser or fuel fault.

Any help or suggestions on how we can check this ourselves without more expense of call outs would be greatly appreciated.
