I've lived in the same condominium for several years and never had any problems with temperature control in the shower, until recently. A while ago the condo's Home Owner's Association hired a property management company to maintain the property. The new on-site manager, who came on as part of the management company, seemed to want to have a more personal than professional relationship with me and I eventually had to be very clear and firm with him to get him stop his inappropriate behavior. About three days after I established the appropriate boundaries with him, it became almost impossible to regulate the temperature in my shower. The water can be icey cold and if I turn the hot tap up, in the least possible increment, it becomes scalding hot. When I try to adjust the temp using the cold water knob, the same extreme changes occur. I've asked other residents if they are experiencing similar problems, and it seems to be limited to my unit. My question is if it is possible for this spurned maintenance man could have sabotaged my shower in a building of 58 units? The building was built in 1987 and there are access panels between units which I've seem plumbers work within. Beyond that, unfortunately, I haven't any idea as to any plumbing particulars. Am I being paranoid or is it possible he tampered with something in order to make my shower uncomfortable?

Unfortunately Yes it is.

Get a guy in to look at it, then mark everything so you know if its been tampered with.

Finally report to the management and the owner.
