Recently bought a house in Barnes (SW13) and with the onset of the cold weather have realized just how bad the heating system is. I am looking for advice on how this can best be remedied.
Current system is a Corvec 45BF gas boiler installed in a cupboard along with the hot water tank. Main problem is that the radiators around the house do not reach a significant temperature although hot water is sufficient. When bleeding the radiators the water was found to be black.
Looking for a replacement system that would:
– Be highly efficient
– Be space saving (ie: most likely a combination boiler as I would like to remove the need for large amounts of water storage)
– Separately control the temperature in bedrooms and living rooms
– Provide sufficient hot water pressure to run a shower
In addition it is important that the system take into account the fact that within a year the house will be extended from two bedrooms to three and from one bathroom to two. Therefore the system will need to take into account first of all moving the actual boiler without having to replace it and secondly for more than one hot water source without major changes in temperature.
Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated - also if you happen to know a good plumber in the area??? |
