Can anybody tell me if it is possbile to turn a ceiling light on and off using 3 different light switches? If so, can they please describe how this can be done? I would be eternally grateful!

Yes it can. You need 2 two way switches. The common of the first is fed with the live supply and the common of the second feeds the live to the light fitting.

You are now left with two terminals in each 2 way switch which in a normal 2 way switching arrangement are joined on one switch to the other.

Fitting the third switch is simply a matter of fitting an 'intermediate' switch between the two 2 way ones. They have 4 terminals and when the above 2 wires are cut one wire goes into a terminal. There is in fact no limit on the number of switches fitted in this way.

Perhaps the biggest problem is obtaining the actual switch. You will have to go to a proper electrical fittings supplier. I don't think the DIY sheds would ever sell them!

Yea mate for sure.........you can 1000 lite switches contolling one lamp if you wish.

All you need is 2 two way switchs , one at each end , and the rest in the middle are intermediate switchs.

Phase in common at one two way , and load at the other. Neutrals can come from anywhere , depending on where the neural conductor is , and the number of cores required between the switchs are dependant on what you need , where the neutral , eath , phase and load are.
