my electric bills are very high, last month $125 and this month $200. I do not have a dishwasher, central air, electri heater, or anything that would run up the bill. Do you have any advice as to what I can do? I called the electric company and they refuse to help. My house is a one floor, no basement 3 bedroom house. So where is all the electric going.

Your gas heater has an electric blower motor to circulate the heat throughout the house... anything with a motor is going to pull more current using more electricity. With it being winter it is darker longer and the lights are on more as well, but the bigger power draws are the motors. Look around the house for what you are using more now than you did a couple months ago when your bill was lower.
