Hi guys, I'm hoping you can help us figure out where to start on this one. Recently we had some quite bad weather and we noticed the lights flicker, thinking that was temporary, we're now 4 days on and every time the oven or a hairdryer is turned on the lights flicker. On one occasion the Hi Fi turned off too.

Any clues? I'm not sure if the weather is related, but it would be a little coincidental.

Thanks,

Rob

Is your electricity supply from overhead lines, typically looped from/to neighbouring houses?

Ours is as said and a couple of years ago Cegelec came out and renewed the terminations along our row of semis.

A few windy years on and the lights flicker when we put the kettle on. We can also tell when next door puts theirs on too! Laughing

Sounds like you have a loose Mains wire somewhere , could even be a broken Neutral , maybee the earthing system might be carrying the current on your house , could be anything get a electricain to sort it , could also be a losse poll fuse!

Craig.
