Hi their I have a garden wall (Double Brick) and it has become quite loose and there is some movement in it. What can cause this? I have been told that something called frost bite can cause this. Is this true or just a myth? Also is it possible to get fixed / use the existing bricks again?

Thanks

Craig

Frost will damage the wall if water has got into the bricks/joints.

Depending how bad the wall is you can rake the mortar out and re-point or re-build the wall with the existing bricks.

Is their any other reason / cause that would make the wall come loose and weak? Or would you possibly put it down to the wall being put up poorly in the first place.

Thanks

Loads of reasons.

Kids climbing over it.

Strong winds.

Rain.

Frost.

Trees undermining the wall.

Weak cement.

Earthquake

Vibration from traffic.

Salt if you live near the seaside.

And even the Sun, if you ever visit Bognor look up at the old high chimneys they all lean toward the south. Laughing
