a fuse disconnect for a hottub has fifty amp fuses in it.with a fifty amp breaker protecting the branch circuit whats the point in having the fuses?

It says disconnect and gfci protected... but I do not believe that you need the disconnect to be fused. Did the inspector get back with you on what he wants to see there? Sounds like you have quite a bit of renovation going on there... it should be great when it is all finished!
