hot tub disconnect?

if the ocpd for the hot tub is within sight can it serve as the disconnect?the hot tub is outside and the main panel is about ten ft.away.i know it needs gfci protection.i was just wondering if i need to mount a disconnect box next to the main panel.thanks for the help.

No because...

National Electric Code says:

clearly labeled disconnect readily accessible, in sight of, and NOT LESS than 5 feet away.

I put this up for you on one of your previous posts. Ask your local inspector what he wants to see there... he will most likely spell it out for you.
