Adding wall lights to our property in for rooms and have chased cables in to walls and put in conduit, cable just sticking out of conduit at the bottom of the chase, waiting to be plastered.

Am i required to mount a socket box in the wall for the connections to be made in, or can i leave the wires poking out of the wall and make the connections inside the new wall lamp?

Thanks, Jamie.

Just make the connections behind the fitting.
If you want to fit a box, the fit an archatrave box.

No, dont want to fit a box, but would if it was a requirement, done with all that chasing and channelling out, clinker block is filthy filthy stuff.

Glad not to have to, will connect either behind as you suggest or inside light if poss.

Ta.
