So that really proves there is nothing wrong with the computer if you can connect to livebox. I was thinking along lines of missing drivers on computer preventing it connecting.

On the bottom of the screen near the clock should be the twin monitor icon. Right click on it select change windows firewall settings and set it to off and click OK.

Right click again on the twin monitors and select STATUS then the SUPPORT tab and then DETAILS and what are the enteries there? Should be around 8.

Now go back to GENERAL tab and what enteries have a tick in the window under 'connection uses' line?

Finally from the main START tab select connect to and then all connections. What ones are set to 'enabled'?

The one that does seem strange is - ip address 192.168.1.1.168 Also not too sure of the lease expire entry. With it being the same as the lease aquired one it gives the impression that will inhibit correct working.

There should only be 4 groups of numbers whereas yours has 5. Also if the live box is 192.168.1.1 then I would expect the one mentioned above to be 192.168.1.xx where xx is between 2 & 255.

Can you try resetting the factory default settings on the livebox wait a few mins for all the lights on the livebox to settledown and then re-enter your adsl username and password. Right click the double monitor icon on computer and select repair. Follow any prompts and see what happens.

You might have to phone Orange tech support as it is possible that the livebox is faulty.
