Hello,

I just recently moved into a home. Outside there is a shed that is somewhat wired for electricity. The line comes out from the house, and is wired to an electric well pump, a motion sensing light and a few florecent lights inside the shed.

I plan on adding a few electrical outlets in the shed itself. I was wondering if I should install another ground rod for the electricity in the shed. If so would I isolate the ground from the ground going to the house, or should the ground rod at the shed be tied into the ground of the house?

Any help would be appriciated
Thanks
Mike T.

The shed electrics should be protected by a RCD (Residual current device)
It does sound as if you have very limited knowledge of wiring practice and for safeties sake I would advise either employing an electrician or get one to give on site advise.
Regards Bert.
