I planted two new borders this year with new plants and now have nothing but a few stalks. I prefer not to use slug pellets and have found beer traps only partially effective. Is copper slug tape any good or can you recommend some plants which slugs and snails don't like?

Metaldehyde mixed into a paste with bran is an effective way to control them, But, thats the hard way to make slug pellets.

Paris Green was good but kills other animals and birds, so probably not available nowadays.

Personally I would just buy the biggest tin of slug pellets, and practice with the old catapult Laughing
