hi folks,
can anyone out there help me with this one?.
a friend of mine has a Peugeot 307, and his airbag warning light came on the other day.
off he set for the garage from where he bought the car (not a peugeot dealer) and the mechanic did his thing with a laptop.
the light duly went out, as according to the mechanic there was not a thing wrong with the car, and hey presto on his way back home, the light came back on again!!!.
any ideas out there for him to try himself (reformat the brain or something)?.
thanks in advance.
Tom....

Bearing in mind the construction and operation of airbags a visit to a local Peugeot dealership must be the order of the day.

They should have the facilities to carry out proper checks plus have the backup of Peugeot themselves.

Is there airbags for the seats ? A lot of vehicles show a airbag light if the wiring under the seat is disturbed. If his seat gets moved a lot due to more than one person using the car it would be worth having a quick look under the seat for any wiring and plugs etc that might have been damaged or worked loose.
even if you do find something and correct it, the light on dash would prob still stay on as its stored in the ecu until put out by the diagnostic laptop.
did the garage just put the light out or actually trace the root of the problem, as just resetting the light would not solve the problem ( and he gets to charge again to extinguish the light)
