I live in a 1950's ex council house with an indoor old fashioned soil stack

I would like to replace it with a new one as I am remodelling my bathroom and want to move the position of my toilet

I cannot remove the whole stack, because it runs down through the kitchen and is boxed and tiled in, in my relatively new kitchen which units in front

Can I join a new soil pipe into the old one below floor level in the bathroom - The current toilet outlet pipe is conected to the pipe under floor level, although I have not removed floorboards yet to see what ios down there

Thanks for any help you can give
