Have a house built 10 years ago. in the out side wall, there are virticle slot holes between the ground and first floor, one brick high. Now the builders ssaid these are Breate holes. Some onlookers have suggested they are where the scafolding was !
Only problem I have is that there are a few bees deciding to investigate these holes. Someone said you can get mesh plugs to fill the holes.
Anyone know what these are really called and where I can get them (online if poss).

They are putlog holes(scaffolding) these should have been pointed after the scaffold was taken down.
Regulations now state that weep vents and a cavity tray are placed in brickwork one course below ground floor level to allow any condensation that might collect in the cavity to escape. Thats just a bit of additional info but you would not have weep vents as high as you have unless they are above windows or doors which are also required. |
