I would say there is no time limit, however the longer it's left the more difficult it would be to prosecute. You hear of old guys being done for crimes committed years before...

You have only two years to claim Criminal Injury Compensation. The trouble with leaving it a while to report an assault though (and sorry if this sounds patronising), is that questions will be asked as to why you didn't report it sooner and your credibility will be called into question
