i have had some double glazing work done, the work was done on the wed, thurs i complained, fri an inspector came out to see the problem. he made his report and a contact the company to see what we can do next and they said they were going to take no further action. i contacted the finance company and told them i was going to stop the DD, till we got the matter sorted. what is my position in terms of taking the glazing company to court or to put right what they obviously dont consider a problem.
thanks |

If you are not happy with the work and they say its fine then you will need to get an independent surveyor in to give a professional opinion.
Once you have that and its in your favour then you can claim your cost back using the small claims court if necessary.
First I would write to them listing the defects and give them 14 days to put them right. Date and keep a copy. would also be a good idea to take any photographic evidence. |

To take the issue further you will need independent advice as I said.
To answer your question, you are entitled under the sale of goods act, to demand a product thats fit for purpose, clearly if the door doesn't fit and is draughty then that is not the case.
Write to the finance and tell them you are not satisfied with the goods and demand they withhold the money until the problem is resolved, you need to do this sooner than later, and do date and keep copies. |
