When I switch my central heating on, for the first 1min or so, I get a gurgling sound coming from the pipes/boiler/radiator etc. Its as if a radiator or boiler was empty and water is now running into it. After a 1min, it all stops, and is silent. The heating works fine.
one thing to note, I cannot bleed one radiator as I cannot undo the bleed key, it worn out, so I would assume there is air in the system. I also had my system powerflushed recently. Its a megaflo system.
Any ideas on the gurgling sound and also how I can undo the bleed key on the radiator without fully replacing the radiator

Air is getting into the system, tell us more about it.

Is it a sealed or open vented.

Are there any slight leaks on places like the rad valves.

What boiler, where's the pump, are there any motorized valve and if so what sort.

scruff. Cool

Its a Megaflow system, pressurised. The valves are Honeywell smartfit valves, I cannot see any leaks on any of the radiator pipes. The red expansion tank for the central heating is showing a pressure of 1bar and this hasn't changed, so I would assume no water leaks as I haven;t had to fill up the system. The boiler is a potterton model 80e I think.

Thanks.

Have you tried bleeding the pump, or turning its speed down?
