I have been given a Sears Kenmore 29 inch electric dryer and cannot find any information on connecting it - Sears USA is useless as far as information goes. I have the instruction booklet and have consulted with my electrician who is stumped. It apparently has two voltages which run the motor and the heater independently but is wired with one huge plug.
Under the electrical Requrements in the booklet it says,
" To supply the required 3 or 4 wire, single phase, 120/240-volt, 60Hz., AC-only electrical supply (or 3 or 4 wire 120/208 volt electrical supply, if specified on the serial/ rating plate) on a separate 30-amp circuit, fused on both sides of the line. A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended. Connect to an individual branch circuit. Do not have a fusin the neutral or grounding circuit."
Do we need a transformer and if so, what kind and how is this power supply split(if it is)?
Anyone have any ideas? Would be most grateful for an answer |
