We have had a room extended and are about to have it carpeted but floor in the old half is a fraction higher than that in the new half (only about a quarter of an inch or less). What is the best way to even them up so we dont get a ridge or uneven wear on the new carpet when it's laid?
(The old half has floor boards and the new half has large sheets of green chipboard type stuff whatever that's called)
Thanks

I would be telling the builder to sort it out.

He could have easily pact the joist to level the two floors
