I have a broadband connection (with a Voyager modem through the ethernet port but have same problem using USB) which from a reboot of the pc works fine. However, if I put the computer into standby and then bring it back to life, the connection doesn't work. Sometimes I can repair the connection by right-clicking on the network icon on the taskbar but not always. Then I have to reboot the pc again. My ISP says that there is no loss of connection from their end.
As an aside, I get similar problems with my scanner - not sure if the symptoms are related.
Can anyone help please?

Have you tried deleting and re-installing the software and USB driver for the modem and also searched for any updated software.
I had no end of trouble with my voyager and changed it for a adsl always on ethernet router and had no problems since.
