I have a Ariston MicroGenus Combi-bolier and need to change the room thermostat because it is starting to play up. Bought a programmable thermostat (TS-101 no make on box) from Maplin as it was in the sale for £10ish. My problem is wiring in the new room thermostat.

Old T has three wires (Red to terminal 1, Yellow to 3, Blue to 4). Wiring picture on old T shows (off the top of my head) as 4 being the connection coming out of the T as Neutral and 1 & 3 shown as live coming into the TS if that makes sense.

This theromostat has been in place since the pre-Ariston was fitted. I looked at the manual for Ariston and it mentions two wire setup to room thermostat so confusing. Problem I have is that new T (SPDT contact) has terminals NO, COM, NC and shows wiring as 3 (24VAC) to NO terminal and 4 (24VAC) to COM.

Please can you help or do I need to ring an electrician to sort out for me. If a further description of the current setup (wiring) helps then I can take another look and post it here.

Thanks
