After my wife's waters break, what sort of timescale are we looking at before she'll be admitted into hospital? I forgot to ask during the antenatal class, and am wondering whether I should go to work the next day if her waters break overnight.

Water can break prematurely, or she could be in labour, if the second count the time between the contractions at 5mins or less start to panic Dad.

If the former phone your GP.

As dictated by scruffs daughter in law ( Nurse scruff )

My sister had a baby last weekend. Her waters broke at 8am, and the baby was born at 11.16am. This was a very quick labour 5 weeks early. I think it is very individual, when it comes to time, etc.
