Hi, I am replacing the bathroom light fitting and on removal of the existing one discovered it was not earthed. The new ceiling fitting has an earth cable so do I attach this to the base plate of the fitting or do I need to connect it to another earth wire which presumably must be pushed up in the ceiling above along with the other wires that are taped and in a block up there?
