HI,

I have an old terraced house with a kitchen, hall and bathroom extension on the back. My brother-in-law tried to put up a new kitchen light for me about 2 years ago and failed miserably and I've never got around to getting it fixed.

I have 3 sets of wires hanging from my ceiling, all encased in grey ... casing I suppose. Each grey casing has a black wire, a red wire and a green/yellow wire. which makes 3 red, 3 black and 3 green/yellow hanging from the hole in the ceiling. The light in the hall works as does the one in the bathroom, but no-one I know seems to be able to get the kitchen one working.
Any Ideas?

If all the other lights in the house work I assume some of the wires are at present joined.

You should have 3 red joined, 2 black joined and a single black. Is this corect?

Let me know and I will tell you how to proceed. If they are not joined then at least one other light will not be working But DO NOT connect any together as trial & error as if you get it wrong it will go bang and blow fuse.
