Hi there,
I am moving the toilet and sink in the bathroom and have a question about knocking holes through the external wall.
With the toilet soil pipe I will obviously need to knock quite a large hole through the wall.
Am I right to use a hammer and bolster to do this? Is the right procedure to knock out a few bricks, line up the pipe and connect it to the toilet. Once happy, cement it in place?
With the sink waste, the pipe is obviously a lot smaller yet larger than any masonry bit I’ve seen for sale in DIY stores. Do plumbers have a special drill bit for drilling a hole to the outside for a sink waste pipe?
Thanks in advance for you help.

If you cut the bricks out cleanly by cutting the joints first you can re-use the bricks to make good.
The smaller holes can be drilled with a diamond core drill, and they can be hired from a tool hire shop or purchased. |
