Is there any reason why I should use a `proper` undercoat for glossing as opposed to emulsion paint for undercoating.

just interested as I have done both in the past and can`t say I see any noticeable difference. If I am doing a lot of paintwork I buy undercoat but if caught short and only a small job I have used emulsion.
