I'm fitting a new bathroom sink (pedestal style). However the one I have to install has no fixing holes for screws either in the pedestal for the floor, or in the basin for the wall, which is not something I've seen before. I'm after some advice on whether this is normal, and whether the sink will be solid just using sealant to hold it to the floor and wall, or whether there really should be some fixing holes.

Any advice gratefully received.

There's normally an hole on the bottom edge at either end where a bracket can be used.

No Nails from a builders merchant will hold it, put a couple of strips along the back edge and prop it back.

Where have I seem this question before

On thebottom back edge of the moulding is there a 'wedge' shape in the moulding - thin at the bottom and getting thicker about 2 inches wide?

If so it is designed to be supported by the pedistal and two brackets on the wall. These consist of a flat fixing with the tow sloping away from wall.
