I have a small piece of wood chipped out of my beds foot board. I've seen two kinds of filler. One is a colored stick that you work in your hands to soften and fill in the hole like putty and then shape and rub until it is set. The other is a lacquer stick that is heated on a knife blade and allowed to set on the wood. Which would you recommend. The lacquer application seems like the best one to me but this will be the first time I've tried anything like this.

Thank you, DavidA
