I have baseboard electric heat in my basement. The thermostat works great. however, when i went to replace the original thermostat with a thermostat with a timer it did not work. someone told me that the wires are probably backwards. What does that mean? Is it something i can fix?

| The original thermostat is a 200-401 Robertshaw MERCURY-FREE MECHANICAL THERMOSTAT 200-401 2-wire, 24V |

| heating and cooling not my forte... best i can do is to say to make sure to read the instructions that came with the specific device and if there is still a problem contact the manufacturer... sorry not to be of more help. |
