I have 2 pilot lights on my furnace. The flame is very high and when you try to turn them down they go out.

Should their be an adjustment on them? All summer my gas bill was out of sight and you could actually feel heat come out of the registers?

My son-in-law tried to turn them down but they kept going out.

Your answer will be appreciated.

To be safe, you should contact a heating engineer. I suspect you are statside and you furnace has a chimney. To tinker with the flames may cause grief.
