Hi,

I do not believe the issue you are having with Google Earth is tied to your ISP AOL.

Assuming you have successfuly downloaded and installed the Google Earth Client (http://earth.google.com/intl/en/download-earth.html), I would think the only thing that would prevent Google Earth from functioning is a firewall that believes the Google Earth application is trying to gain unauthorised access to the internet. I do not use AOL myself, but guess it may contain a firewall feature? perhaps it lists Google as currently blocked?

You can check if a firewall may be the issue because Google Earth provide a URL that you can visit to test connectivity, you can find it here --> http://earth.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=20717

Good Luck

Nick

FYI, The Time Warner group that own AOL also own a product that is in the same market place as Google Mapping, it is called "MapQuest" (http://www.mapquest.com/), if it turns out that AOL *are* blocking Google Earth, then that would be a very unsociable tactic!
