hi, just after peoples thoughts/advice. we are selling our house and buying the mother in laws. we have rang round for prices from local solicitors wich are £800 to £1000 dearer than online quotes. so has anybody had any good or bad experiences with using online solicitors ? is it a case of you get what you pay for ? or just a big rip off using local solicitors ?
thanks in advance |

Perhaps not quite so much with Solicitors, but in my opinion the whole exercise of buying and selling houses is a very big ripoff.
Its about time they had a fixed fee irrespective of the price, all this 1% and 1.5% etc of the selling price should be investigated especially estate agent.
The more trade they loose through online activity's the better everyone will end up. |

| totally agree. we used a fixed price estate agent which cost a couple of hundred quid instead of the traditional ones that like you say wanted anywhere between 1-2 % which would of been over a £1000 |
