Firstly i know this is a UK-based forum, so im not expecting many answers...but i might get lucky

I am a UK citizen from birth, and currently live & work in the UK.

I have UK property which i rent out. Before i bought these i learned the basics as to what % would be income tax, was is tax deductable etc, so that when the time came for filing tax returns there were no major unexpected surprises.

Now i am considering purchasing properties in the US and i would like to gain a similar basic level of understanding before i commit.

Obviously once i have US property i will hire an accountant to handle my tax return, but to determine whether the US is a worthwhile venture for me i need to have some idea whether we're talking 10% or 30% tax, for example, as clearly this is an important factor before i commit.

If you dont know the answer, but have contact details for an accountant who would be able to help that would be most appreciated.

Regards
