Hi All,

My back garden needs re-turfing. It's not a very big area due to car-port so I'd like to do this myself.

It's very uneven with lots of weeds...big weeds ! Laughing

This is my plan of action;

1; Take the top off the existing lawn.
2; Lay pond liner down over entire area to kill weeds.
3; Use top soil to even out the surface.
4; Lay new turf.

What I'd like to know is this;

Is this the best way to do this? If not, how?
When is the best time to do this? (I thought now since the ground is quite soggy)
Can you offer any alternatives?
