| Hi, just wondered if anyone could suggest a good tester for a beginer. there appear to be so many on the market. i hope to be attending a electical course in september so one that would see me through a few years would be good. thanks |

What type of electrical course. House electrics, electronics? Les's know and I'll try a few suggestions.

In which case I would perhaps suggest you wait until you start your course before spending a lot of money.
You can buy a general purpose multimeter, Volts, Amps & Ohms - but make sure it has A.C. Amps on it.
You should be able to get a half decent one for around £50 suitable for starting with.
Once you actually start electrical installation work there will be a multitude of test meters you might well need to buy. Insulation tester, Earth tester, RCD, loop to name a few.
