|

I'm buying a timber-framed house, c.1720s, in Cambridgeshire. It has been rendered with a concrete render which is cracking. I'm told it should be lime. I've been given a guide price for taking off the old and applying 3 coats of lime render (necessary, I'm told) of £200/sq metre (plus any timber frame repairs which may be necessary). I think this works out at about 40-50k for what is a medium-sized detached 4 bed house, plus timber repairs. This seems horrendously expensive. Does this sound right? Any help would be appreciated before I commit to buy! |

Get a couple of estimates but always remember cheap is not normally best.
Try to find the companies other customers and ask them for comments or go and view their work if outside. |
