We have to do some paper stripping, paper and paint the ceiling, etc. above a stairwell. How do I make a safe working platform to reach the top of the well please? I have a combi ladder and an ordinary stepladder plus one of those short platforms with legs (about 3ft. long by 1.5 ft high). Do I need to get boards or planks as well to make a suitable platform?

There is a return wall that I can lean a ladder against but making a platform still looks awkward.
